The LGL-170 Rechargeable Full-Size Long Gun Light Kit is a complete weapon lighting system for your rifle, carbine, or shotgun. Made of 6061-T6 aluminum and hard anodized black, it features a super-bright LED rated at 1500 lumens with a 1.5-hour runtime. Designed around a high-efficiency deep parabolic reflector, the LGL-170's tightly focused beam reaches out to 304 meters. The light comes installed with a standard tail cap switch and reversible thumb-screw Picatinny mount. It can alternatively be mounted with the included offset Picatinny mount, providing flexible options to clear front sights and other mounted equipment while allowing easy support hand activation.
Both the tail cap switch as well as the included 6" remote pressure pad/switch feature momentary or constant-on modes. The kit also includes an RPS Picatinny rail mount and Nightstick-exclusive wire management rail clamp to prevent cable snags. The rechargeable LGL-170 weapon light kit includes (2) 18650 lithium-ion batteries, a single 18650 battery charger, and a 2' USB charging cable to hot-swap a fully-charged battery as needed. As an added bonus, the LGL-170 also runs on a pair of CR123 batteries.

This is my second review. I was not originally happy that the lugs on the light are not sized to fit aftermarket mounts, and gave it 3 stars. However, I was contacted the next morning by Nightstick and had a nice back and forth via email. Their reasoning for the different size lugs is sound; the LGL-150 is too small to work with that measurement, and not that they wanted a proprietary mount.
I did not know that they have their own MLok and KeyMod mounts, and the company sent me an offset MLok mount that fits perfect (see picture). Their prices are nice as well. With that said, the two mounts that come in the kit with the light are 1913 style, which means the light can be mounted on most rifles out of the box. After looking at them, the 1913 mounts are very well made. There's a standard and offset mount, and the shoe that clamps onto the rail is captured in place so it can't be lost, and it has springs that guide it while tightening. Smart design.
The light itself is super bright, and I appreciate that it uses either CR123 or 18650 batteries (it comes with two 18650s with charger). The IPX-7 rating is a standard requirement for me as well. The cord management stuff for the tape switch is lightweight and simple to mount. This light with accessories has everything you need to mount it on a weapon and keep it running, out of the box (can't do that with MLok or KeyMod; too many combinations to get that right).
In summary, it's a super nice light with accessories that is backed by a company that will address any problems rapidly. I was looking for a mount solution that simplified my problem (handrail-1913-mount-light) and Nightstick came through. The offset MLok was exactly what I was looking for - it's as close as it can get to the rail and front sight (MI offset) without touching anything. Great product!
